Airbrushed Spray Tanning

For those of you wanting a tropical tan without the harmful rays of the sun, try an airbrushed fake tan using St. Tropez Air. Airbrushed tanning application is fast and effective, taking approximately 30 minutes. ST. If you have not used any of the ST. TROPEZ tanning products before, please ensure you phone to arrange a patch test in the days prior to application. This patch test is free of charge and takes just a few minutes.

On the evening prior to your tanning appointment:

Exfoliate using a non-oil based scrub - these are widely available from most chemists. Pay particular attention to dry areas of the body such as elbows and knees before moisturising; Shave or wax legs; Remove make-up.

On the day of your appointment:

Do not wax or shave on the morning of the treatment; Do not use perfume, deodorant, moisturiser or any type of oils, especially essential oils as these may act as a barrier preventing the tanning solution from interacting with the skin; Wear old or dark coloured undergarments to be sprayed in and loose outer-clothing and sandals when leaving the salon.

After the application:

The tan will start to develop 2 to 3 hours after application and continue to develop for up to 12 hours. It is preferable that you do not shower for up to 8 hours after the application. Do not take part in any activity which may cause perspiration during development time.

An airbrushed tan will typically last 5 - 7 days. It all depends on your skin type and how you care for it following the tanning session. Moisturise daily, preferably with ST. TROPEZ body moisturiser which contains     l-tyrosine. This ingredient activates the melanin in the skin ensuring your tan lasts the longest possible time.

Please note that some moisturisers will actually decrease your tan life. Taking long, hot baths or showers and wearing tight clothes that chafe, will lessen the life of your tan. Do not exfoliate until the tan has worn away. After bathing, do not rub yourself, rather pat yourself dry. Avoid swimming pools, as the chlorine will bleach your tan. Schedule regular tanning sessions.
